The Opportunity
The Department of Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering is well regarded for its top-ranking students and cutting-edge research that results in advanced commercial products. It leads a $15M project to develop a cortical-implant to restore vision (a Bionic Eye) using its experience in robotic vision, wireless, analog electronics, EMC, numerical simulation, biomedical engineering and systems-on-a-chip. The department has pioneered advanced communications systems, particularly long-haul optical communications, OFDM systems, MIMO systems, wireless systems, and RFID. Recent appointments include world-class researchers in communications theory, augmented reality, EMI-resistant analog electronics, robotics and photonics. The department has excellent lab facilities for photonics, microwaves and RF, high-voltage engineering, transformer testing and robotics.

Expertise or experience in any of the following areas is particularly sought:
Successful candidates will be expected to initiate independent, creative research programs as well as actively participate in undergraduate and graduate teaching.

The Benefits
Remuneration packages:
Level B – A$86,306 – A$102,488 pa (includes employer superannuation of 17%)
Level C – A$105,724 – A$121,906 pa (includes employer superannuation of 17%)
Level D – A$127,303 – A$140,243 pa (includes employer superannuation of 17%)
This role is a full-time position, however flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
