Eligibility:
Candidates must have a PhD and/or MD at the time they take up the appointment. Only candidates who have held their PhD and/or MD (post residency) for less than five years will be considered for funding.
Citizenship: Preference is given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada. Other successful applicants must obtain an appropriate Canadian visa for education and/or employment and must be eligible to apply for funding from additional external agencies in the relevant area (eg. CIHR, OMHF).
A Postdoctoral Fellow is expected to be located at the CAMH during the one-year period of the appointment, and not be engaged in any other paid work (with limited exception for teaching and clinical duties).

Scholarship Description: The objective of the Postdoctoral Fellowship Program is to provide postdoctoral fellows with a comprehensive training program in the fields of addiction and/or mental health and with training in research techniques. Postdoctoral fellows are expected to make independent contributions to knowledge during their appointment. These may be in the form of a contribution to an existing project, or through the development of an original project. Postdoctoral Fellowships are limited to a one-year period of support and are based on the current CIHR salary scales. Please note that although a second year of funding is possible, the second-year applications are evaluated together with all other first time applications, using the same process and criteria as new applications.
