Applications are invited for a fixed-term position (18 month) in the Complex Trait Genetics Programme in MRC Human Genetics Unit. The programme focuses on the dissection of the genetics of complex and quantitative traits in humans and other species. This position is funded by BBSRC to develop a novel tool for routine high throughput analysis of gene interactions (epistasis) in datasets created for genome-wide association studies. We are looking for a highly motivated and energetic team-player to join this challenging but exciting project. The successful candidate will have good opportunities to acquire multidisciplinary working experience, skills and publications for future career development.
Candidates with a strong background in statistical genetics, and/or computational biology, and/or bioinformatics are encouraged to apply. Experience in programming and numerical data analysis is essential. All applicants should have a good first degree and additional training (e.g. MSc) in a relevant field and at least one first-author journal paper published or in preparation.

The appointment will be to a Band 4 starting salary from £ 26,022 – £31,758 per annum. We offer optional membership to the MRC pension scheme and excellent training and development opportunities as well as a generous holiday entitlement.
