Applicants for the PhD position should hold a Master’s Degree, preferably in Urban and/or Environmental Management. A good command of oral and written English is required, and also Danish skills.

Scholarship Description: At the Faculty of Engineering and Science, Department of Development and Planning a PhD stipend is available within the general study programme “Planning and Development”. The stipend is open for appointment from January 1, 2012. A common challenge in relation to climate change that planners and policy makers face is how to evaluate and implement planning strategies that reduce future greenhouse gas emissions, adapt to climate changes, while simultaneously supporting sustainability goals of a balanced social, environmental and economic development. The primary purpose of this research project will be to understand how planners and policy makers decide which strategies to pursue, how various policy priorities are established, what planning tools are applied for which purposes.
