Eligibility:
According to the Regulations of the University of Helsinki, the appointee must hold a doctoral degree and have the ability to conduct independent scientific work as well as the teaching skills required by the position. Experience in working or conducting research in a developing country may be considered an asset. The doctorate must have been awarded no earlier than four years prior to the application date.

Scholarship Description: Postdoctoral Researcher in Development Studies for a fixed term of three years, from 1 January 2012 to 31 December 2014. Development studies is a multidisciplinary field focusing on developing countries and development issues. The duties of the postdoctoral researcher will include research and teaching. The postdoctoral researcher will conduct independent research as agreed in his or her research plan and provide teaching in subjects included in the discipline.
