Eligibility:
Students can apply in Masters and PhD programs in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. U.S. citizens and non-EU citizens are eligible. NPS employees are not eligible. George Melendez Wright, previous recipients of the Climate Change grants are not eligible.

Scholarship Description: The goals of this student fellowship program are relevant to support new and innovative research for managing the impacts of climate change in U.S. national parks, including cross-border issues and comparisons with Mexican and Canadian reserves. Awards range from $ 5,000 to $ 20,000 per grant for research conducted within the years 2012-13. Projects may consist of exploratory research that could lead to a larger project, funded by other sources, but tangible results, which must lead to the information resource decisions. Applications are encouraged for research in all areas of natural and cultural resources of the units in the National Park System. Examples include projects vulnerability and risk assessment, adaptation strategies, public perception and values??, and impacts on natural resources and cultural resources (such as cultural landscapes, archaeological and traditional cultural / ethnographic and historic structures).
