The Margaret George Award is designed to help talented, emerging scholars complete an innovative and

quality research project that is significant for Australian audiences and makes substantial use of the

Additional Information

Fellows will have access to the National Archives of Australia collection to undertake their research. In

return, they will actively promote the archives and its collection. Applications close on the last Friday in



Duration and Value

Duration: 3.0 months

Annual value: $A 10,000.00

Total value: $A 10,000.00

Extra Details: Fellows will be provided with an allowance up to a maximum of $10,000. A budget must be

provided with the application. It is envisaged that a fulltime fellowship would be for a maximum of 3

months and a part-time fellowship for no more than 12 months.

General information

Successful applicants could be emergent historians, academics, independent researchers or journalists

with a talent for research. It is desirable that applicants have a record of achievement in their chosen field

and the potential to excel further.
