All applicants should have the proper qualification for Ph.D. study in the form of a BSc(Hons) degree or higher in an aligned field with a working knowledge of the Resource Management Act in New Zealand. Scholarship Description: Our project team, Lake Ecosystem Restoration New Zealand (www.LERNZ.co.nz), hosted by the Department of Biological Sciences, University of Waikato, seeks a Ph.D. candidate to examine the impediments to lake restoration by identifying different social, policy and economic drivers that influence the restoration process. The successful candidate will receive a scholarship which will cover a living allowance and tuition fees. The University of Waikato is one of New Zealand’s major research organisations, playing a key role in the local and national economy and making a significant contribution to the international innovation system.
