Three academic positions at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor will be available during 2011 (starting date negotiable).
Applicant should have research and teaching interests in the general area of materials science and engineering, with a development plan of a research program in an emerging or rapidly developing area. Excellent experimental skills are required, together with good analytical and computational skills. It is expected that the successful candidate will have the desire and ability to teach courses at the undergraduate level, in materials science and related topics, and courses at the graduate level commensurate with his/her research interests. An earned PhD degree is required and postdoctoral experience desirable in materials science, physics, chemistry or related fields.
Successful candidates must have demonstrated potential for developing an externally funded research program in Materials Science and Engineering including, but by no means limited to, areas such as:
Alloy development in non-ferrous materials
Composite Materials
Biomaterials and biocompatible materials
Nanoscience or nanomaterials
