Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for the post of Professor/Senior Lecturer in Computer Science.
Applicants for this post should possess:
• An earned PhD degree in Computer Science or a closely related field;
• Demonstrable ability to teach effectively at both graduate and undergraduate levels;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills;
• A strong commitment to the importance and contribution of diversity in the Caribbean multi-cultural educational environment;
• An understanding of and commitment to the role of the University in the economic development of the region and the contribution of the University to the world innovation stage.
The successful candidate must have an outstanding international reputation for excellence in scholarly research and will assume a leadership role in the department to strengthen and expand the Computer Science Discipline’s research and teaching mission. We seek an individual who will inspire exceptional graduate students, maintain and promote support for a vigorous research programme, develop new initiatives, serve as a standard for excellence in scholarly activity and excellence in teaching, be a mentor for current and future faculty, and collaborate with faculty and students in interdisciplinary educational and research programmes in Computer Science and Information Technology.
The successful applicant will be expected to assume duties by 1 August 2009 or as soon as possible thereafter.
