Call for Associate Researcher and Postdoctoral Positions

Job description:

The Center for Optics and Photonics (CEFOP), funded by the Basal Program for Scientific and Technological Centers of Excellence (CONICYT), invites applications for an associate researcher position and for a postdoctoral research position in experimental optics. The successful candidates will be in charge of the set-up of a new nonlinear optics laboratory and therefore, technical experience in optics will be given priority in the selection process. The research line will be focused on the classical and quantum propagation of light beams in periodic optical media e.g., photorefractive crystals and reconfigurable lattices. The position for associate researcher is for an initial period of three years. The postdoctoral position is for an initial period of two years. Both can be extended depending upon evaluation.

Position duties include e activities after the first year, at both the undergraduate and the graduate levels, with no more than one course per semester.

The deadline for the reception of applications is August 31, 2010. Successful candidates will be appointed from October 2010.
