Overview The French Academic Subject Group, as part of the School of Languages and Social Sciences, invites applications for two fully-funded PhD studentships from strong candidates in research areas covered by the School. The studentships are linked to the recent appointment of a Chair in French Politics and Modern History and will be for full-time study over three years, commencing in October 2010. Applications are particularly invited from candidates wishing to pursue research in the following fields: modern French history and politics, political institutions, parties and elections, political culture, discourse and ideology.
