Eligibility:
Postdoctoral Training: Junior researcher with a doctoral degree (eg PhD, MD) does not reach more than six years before the date of the application in the fields of behavioral and social sciences, biological sciences, chemistry, engineering, mathematics, medicine, physics, or public Health (other disciplines may also be considered solid) come into question.
-Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent before the start of the Fellowship, but not necessarily hold when applied. Doctors who can receive an MD degree is not more than eight years and have not experienced advanced research are to: Post-Doctoral Fellow. -Professional Development Training: The Fellowship is based on the proven drug use or HIV scientists not currently active on the field of HIV-related drug use are research, contains a minimum of seven years experience across the scientific level and with a documented scientific record, the peer-review publications.
Applications are invited from each country, but the preference is given to applicants from countries with low and middle income countries.
-There are numerous national opportunities for research training in the U.S., applications from U.S. citizens and permanent residents will not be accepted for scholarships in the United States. All applicants must have a mentor in an institution that is select from their current institution (see FAQ for details).
Applicants must present their first scholarships June 2013 to begin. Applications must be completed in English.

Scholarship Description: With the support of the National Institute of Drug Abuse (NIDA), the International AIDS Society (IAS) has a research fellowship program with emphasis on HIV and Drug Use, with the aim of contributing to advances in scientific understanding of Drug use and HIV, while promoting international collaborative research on HIV and drug use (see FAQ for defining the research areas covered by the Community). The fellowship program is awarded as a grant in the amount of $ 75,000 in two categories: use by a junior scientist for 18 months post-doctoral training or an established HIV researcher for an eight-month-long professional development training for leading Host institutes excellence in HIV drug research.
